I would like to discuss something that is very dear to me, and the understanding of which radically changed my own life. It is something that the Lord revealed to me in Zimbabwe and that I taught weekly for about six months in the Dutch Reformed Church where I was a minister. The more I preached about it, the more the message began to change my own life. This message concerns the HEART-condition of mankind, and what the Bible has to say about it.

Let us begin in Matthew chapter 15. Jesus is speaking here, and He says,

Matt 15:8“This people honors Me with their lips, but their heart is far away from Me.”

The preceding verse says,

Matt 15:7“You hypocrites, rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying …”

Jesus refers to Isaiah.

Let’s take a look at what Isaiah had to say about this.
