Conflicting Kingdoms Book 1 – Two cities

In the Scriptures, much time is devoted to the birth, character, and final destiny of these two cities – one diametrically opposed to the other. These cities are JERUSALEM and BABYLON. They are mentioned 1 097 times in the Scriptures (Jerusalem 811 times and Babylon 286 times). The one is YHWH’s city, which He loves, and the other is Satan’s city, which he exploits in an attempt to overthrow everything which is GOOD.

"Restoring the lost sheep and healing the broken-hearted."

The vast chasm between the kingdom of LIGHT and the kingdom of DARKNESS is a theme which fills the pages of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. It takes on many different forms, but in essence it is a dramatization of the relentless conflict between GOOD versus evil; HOPE versus fear; LOVE versus hate; HUMILITY versus pride; FAITH versus hopelessness; TRUTH versus the lie. These two opposite ends of the scale are depicted in the Bible by two cities

As these cities have played an important role in world affairs since almost the beginning of Bible time, and feature prominently in personal, national and international conflict, it behoves us to take a closer look at what the Scriptures have to say about them. In fact, in one way or the other, they have a significant impact on every aspect of our lives whether we want to acknowledge it or not.
