Die 16de Desember is ‘n spesiale dag vir die Afrikaner volk. Dit herdenk die dag wat hierdie nasie ‘n verbond met God gesluit het. Hul leier, Piet Retief, en sy metgeselle is in 1838 op ‘n verraderlike wyse deur Dingaan, die Zulu koning, vermoor. Voortrekker groepe is onmiddellik daarna aangeval en afgemaai. Die hele nasie het in gebed getree. ‘n Groep van ongeveer 460 vrywilligers het toe onder leiding van Andries Pretorius inbeweeg om Dingaan se leër van ver oor die 10,000 impi’s te konfronteer. Hierdie manne het voorlaaiers gehad, nie moderne gewere nie, en dit het teen hulle getel. Hulle was egter manne van God met ‘n diepe geloof, en weens die geweldige oormag wat teen hulle was, het hierdie klein groepie mense ‘n gelofte aan God afgelê dat as God vir hulle ‘n oorwinning in dié oorlog sou gee, hulle as Afrikaner volk vir God sou dien en vir Hom ‘n huis ter herinnering sou bou.

Hul volkome oorwinning by Bloed Rivier – sonder ‘n enkele verlies aan hulle kant – was een van die grootste wonderwerke in militêre geskiedenis.

Our Lord Jesus gave stern warnings against false teachings. Here are some of them:

Mat 7:15         “Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.”

Mat 24:24       “For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect.”

The Apostle Paul also gave similar warnings:

2Cor 11:13      “For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.”

2Thes 2:11      “And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.”

The restoration of ALL things is surely the dream or hope of all believers. No more violence or sickness or suffering or pain. No more lying and cheating. No more fear. No more sin. No more death. It is a dream of Utopia. It almost seems as if that is impossible and will never be a reality.

As inleiding herhaal ek ‘n gedeelte van die laaste deel van Boek 9 omdat dit as inleiding dien vir hierdie boek, Boek 10. In Boek 9 – Die herstel van alle dinge, het ons Christus se duisendjaar-heerskappy op die aarde behandel. Die tydperk is verseker een duisend jaar soos wat die volgende Skrif aandui. Tydens hierdie duisend jaar-tydperk sal die duiwel en sy demoniese magte, volgens die Skrif, toegesluit wees en sal daarom die aarde se bewoners nie meer kan versoek nie. Die opstand aan die einde van die duisend jaar sal dus die harte van die mense wat teen YHWH en sy volk in opstand kom, openbaar. Die volgende Skrifgedeelte hanteer hierdie onderwerp:

Open 20:3 “… daarna moet hy [die duiwel] dan ‘n kort tydjie ontbind word.”

20:5            “En die ander dode het nie herlewe totdat die duisend jaar voleindig was nie …”

Oor een ding kan ons seker wees, dat daar vir dié wat tot sterwe kom, geen meer kans is om te verander of hulle te bekeer nie. Die Skrif sê:

Heb 9:27 “En net soos die mense bestem is om eenmaal te sterwe en daarna die oordeel.”

Hos 2:14    “Therefore, behold, I will allure her, bring her into the wilderness, and speak kindly to her.”

The wilderness is the frontline where the kingdoms of light and darkness are in fierce combat. It is generally a place one wishes to avoid. If it has to be, then at best some might condescend to tolerate it. But to desire it … long for it … embrace it!?

Yet, it is in the wilderness that we hear the most passionate words of kindness imaginable. This book is written to encourage and give direction to individuals and nations in times of deep turmoil.

It is evident from Scripture that there will be difficult times ahead. We are in a time of a confrontation with evil which can only escalate as we move closer to harvest time. These are end times that we are living in. However, this is not a time to fear. It is a time to stand strong; a time to grow in faith. It is a time that encourages an intimate love for Jesus like no other situation can do, and a time to stick close to our family and fellow believers. These are exhilarating times.

Soos ons deur hierdie studie werk, sal ons sien hoe gereeld die vyand misleiding gebruik om YHWH se ewige reddingsplan en herstel van sy wonderlike skepping, asook die volk wat Hy uitverkies het om sy boodskapper van daardie herstel te wees, te vernietig. Mag die Here ons oë oopmaak om WAARHEID te sien en te verstaan, en deur dit te verstaan, om met selfversekering op daardie pragtige smal pad te wandel, ons oë vas op Jesus gerig, die Leidsman en Voleinder van ons geloof.

Mag WAARHEID uiteindelik seëvier.
