"Restoring the lost sheep and healing the broken-hearted."

A passage in the Song of Solomon indicates how lovesick the bride was – how she longed for Him, searching and searching until she found Him. Surely this directs our hearts towards the attitude of heart we should have towards our Bridegroom. Here is a part of this precious passage.

Song 3:1-3 “On my bed night after night I sought him whom my soul loves; I sought him but did not find him. ‘I must arise now and go about the city; in the streets and in the squares I must seek him whom my soul loves.’ I sought him but did not find him. “The watchmen who make the rounds in the city found me, and I said, ‘Have you seen him whom my soul loves?’

3:4 “Scarcely had I left them when I found him whom my soul loves; I held on to him and would not let him go until I had brought him to my mother’s house, and into the room of her who conceived me.”

Notice how the bride clings to her Bridegroom. “I held on to him and would not let him go.” Would this be a description of your relationship with Jesus?

Notice also that the searching was “night after night”. When she did not find Him immediately, she did not give up. She went out in search of Him. She did all she could, asking people who might know more to help her. Let us study what might be involved in such a search, and what that might look like. You might want to also read Song of Solomon 5:4-16 in preparation of this study. This bride was deeply in love with her Bridegroom.
